Obituary
Anthony (Tony) David Welsh, 48, passed away suddenly on July 15, 2022.
He was born in Melrose, MA on November 26th, 1973 to David Welsh and Janet (Burgess) Welsh. He was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, uncle, son-in-law and friend.
Anthony grew up in the small town of Limington, Maine in a neighborhood where he made lifelong friends that became like family. He was a graduate of Bonny Eagle High School, class of 1992, in Standish, ME.
He married his high school sweetheart, Michelle Van Marter, in 1997 after moving to Florida shortly after high school.
During his teenage years, he found his passion for auto mechanics which became his career. During his career, he worked on diesel trucks for Alterman Transport Lines, Orlando, FL, before finding his way to a Volkswagen Dealership in Sanford, FL. There he became a Master Certified Technician for Volkswagen.
In 2014, He and his family moved to the small town of Edgewater, FL after becoming friends with the owners of Park Ave Motors in New Smyrna Beach, FL where he has worked since. This was a good move for the family as it had the relaxed small town beach life.
He enjoyed the time off from work as well as traveling with his family or spending the day with friends golfing. Anthony was a connoisseur of small brew IPA beer. He enjoyed visiting different breweries to give their beer a try, but his favorite became a small brewery on Canal Street in New Smyrna Beach. He became the “Norm” of the brewery and made many great friends.
Anthony came from a very large family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Sidney & Lillian (Russes) Welsh and John and Alice (Reynolds) Burgess, all formerly of Wakefield, MA, as well as his father David Welsh. He is survived by his wife, Michelle, son Castor and daughter Nikole, his mother, Janet Burgess, his father’s wife, Norma Welsh, his in-laws, William and Vicki Van Marter and Joanne and Fred Stuart, siblings, Faye Welsh and wife Anita, Marcy Chavez and her partner JP, Michael Welsh and his wife Jennifer and Jacob Welsh and his wife Milly as well as many loved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, great-nephews and friends that were like brothers and sisters.
