Thomas Wilmer Hill, Sr. 89, of Cato, NY, passed away on October 13, 2o23, at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, NY.  Born on January 2, 1934, in Hartsdale, NY, Tom was the beloved husband of Dorothy Hickok Hill for 63 years.

Tom attended Purdys Central School, graduating as valedictorian in 1951, and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1955 from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY.  He worked for General Dynamics with the NAESU Lighter-Than-Air program, the IBM Mercury Recovery Program and he retired after 30 years with the Bioelectronics Department of Upstate University Hospital.

Tom enjoyed fishing, farming, hunting, golfing, camping and traveling.  He was a man of faith and worshiped most recently at Cato Christian Fellowship and previously at Zellwood Methodist and Countryside United Methodist Churches.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Charles L. Hill II and Kathleen Collins Hill; his sister, Ruth (Sven) Sealander and his brother Charles L Hill III.

He is survived by his wife, Dodie; his children, Thomas (Nicole) Hill Jr. of Oviedo, Florida, Kathleen Hill of Victory, NY,  Andrew (Kerstin) Hill of Sloansville, NY and Susan (Ron) DiNapoli of Ithaca, NY; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service for Tom will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 11:00 am at Cato Christian Fellowship, followed immediately by graveside service and interment at Conquest Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Tom’s memory to Cato Christian Fellowship.
