Roy was a Navy Submarine Veteran, serving in World War II. He worked with the Florida East Coast Railway until the strike in the early 60's and then went into business and opened Jones Electric on Canal Street where he worked until his retirement. Roy was a Mason, Past President of Rotary Club and Past President of the New Smyrna Beach Shriners where he enjoyed planning and preparing the Saturday lunches and special dinners for his fellow Shriners and friends for many years. Over the years he loved being with his family, hunting and fishing with his sons, pitching for his senior softball team, traveling with his wife and enjoying his grandkids. Left to cherish his memory and honor his loving spirit is his wife of 70 years, Helen Wilcox Jones, his children, Steve Jones (Lynne), Peggy Echols (David) and Glenn Jones (Cindy), six grandchildren and seven great-grand-children. He will be laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
