Alfred (Al) John Zappi, Jr., a long-time resident of Ormond Beach died at home May 19, 2019 surrounded by loved ones. Al was born in Babylon, New York to Alfred John and Marie Genna Zappi on May 5, 1940.  He graduated from Seaford (N.Y.) High School and soon after enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He was passionate about life, the people he loved, Unity Church, flying and Disney World. Al was brilliant, funny, loyal, deeply spiritual, loving, dedicated to his family and friends, a proud veteran, a private pilot and enthusiastic member of Civil Air Patrol.
