Ambrose Francis Mullaney, 81, of New Smyrna Beach died Sunday October 4, 2009 at his home. Ambrose was born March 23, 1928 in Bethel, Connecticut to Ambrose and Hilda Walsh Mullaney. He was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1946 – 1947. Ambrose was an inspector for the State of Connecticut Highway Department. For many years he and his late wife, Ethel were winter residents of New Smyrna Beach before moving here full time in 1998. Ambrose enjoyed walking on the beach, he was an avid reader and loved having his family come to Florida for a visit.
H e is survived by his devoted children, Brian (Gail) Mullaney of Fogelsville, PA, Karen (Charles) Mann of Venice, FL and Beth (Michael) DeBruin of Massachusetts; four cherished grandchildren, Brian, Katherine, Jeffrey and Phillip.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to American Heart Associations, 555 W. Granada Blvd. #H6, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
Graveside services will be held 10:00AM, Saturday, October 24, 2009 at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Danbury, CT.
