Obituary
Anita Jean Lyon, 71, passed away at the home she loved in New Smyrna Beach surrounded by family on July 17th 2022. Daughter of Josephine and Bill Frame and sister of Rita and Robin, she was a partner in love, life, and adventuring with her husband Phillip Lyon for 43 years. Traveling many times to Scotland and other spots in the UK as well as seeing many of these United States, including many trips to the Smoky Mountains, Jean never met a stranger. She might disappear into a store and come out several minutes later with a new friend and an interesting story.
In addition to Phil, Jean is survived by two sons Richard Pindell, South Daytona and his love Mary, and William Pindell, Savannah, GA and his love Amber. Phil came with two daughters who she loved like her own, Tracey Nicholson and her love Newt and Dana Lyon and her love Sherri Brown. If you were to talk to her she would surely mention the grandchildren she adored, Zoe Lyon-Goldman, Haleigh Bond and her love Thomas, and her protégé in the kitchen, Tyler Pindell. She was a proud aunt to her nieces and nephews, their loves, and children as well.
Jean worked and made lifelong friends at the telephone company until her retirement and then worked at Seaside Quilt Shop in New Smyrna (for friendship and fabric more than money, to be honest). Besides adventures in quilting, Jean loved baking yeast rolls for her family to fight over at holiday meals as well as cookies, cakes, and other sweets for all to enjoy. She enjoyed BritBox mysteries and crossword puzzles.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 30 at Baldwin Funeral Home at 1 Causeway N, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32169 with visiting from 2-3p and the service from 3-4p. This is a BYOQ (Bring Your Own Quilt) event. If Jean made you a quilt, please bring it to display at your seat during the service. We would like to have a photo of the handiwork Jean so loved creating for others to use.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in her name to the charity of your choice.
