Obituary

Anne Marie Florence 71, of New Smyrna Beach died Friday, April 26, 2019 with her family by her side.  Anne was born May 20, 1947 in Minneola, NY to the late Charles and Julia Whytal.  She grew up on Long Island and later in Brooklyn, NY and married the love of her life Jerry Lee Florence on August 21st, 1971 in Brooklyn. They settled in Newnan, GA to raise their two children.  Later they moved to Deltona and settled in New Smyrna Beach in 2009, where Anne worked as a realtor and in Hospitality in a Daytona Beach condominium.  She will be remembered for her work at St Claire’s Parish, her gardening, walks on the beach and of course her Pepsi.  Anne is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Jerry; devoted children, Glenn Florence and Angela Florence and her husband, Chris all of New Smyrna Beach; her granddaughter who she adored; brother, John Whytal of New Smyrna Beach, along with his wife Brenda and Anne’s two nieces; one nephew, one great niece and two great nephews.  A life celebration will be held 1PM, May 11, 2019 at Baldwin Brothers Heritage Place, 1 N Causeway, New Smyrna Beach.

    I was nine years old when they sat me down in a big armchair and placed a tiny pink bundle in my arms, the first baby I ever held -- my Anne. My love for her was sealed forever. I will love her always.

    We were so privileged to know Ann for the last 10 yearsshe welcomed us to the neighborhood and will is always available to answer our questions. every once in awhile when she couldn't fix or do something herself which was very few times Ted would always come over and help her out. It was obvious how much she loved her granddaughter and enjoyed playing with her. We will miss you Annie rest in peace
