Obituary
Annie Mae (Anne) Kellett O’Kelley (100) of Daytona Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2023. Anne was born on December 9, 1922, in Fork Shoals, South Carolina, to Walter and Mattie Kellett. She was the 8th of 11 children.
Anne graduated from Fork Shoals High School where she was captain of her basketball team. She married Delma Ree (D.R.) O’Kelley in 1941. Anne and D.R. raised five children. The focus and joy of Anne’s life always was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The last month of Anne’s life was a joyful one. She reached her goal of 100 by following her own advice to never stop moving. She took a trip to South Carolina with her daughter, Renee, where she visited granddaughters and their families, was visited by her nieces and nephew, and took a sentimental trip around Columbia. She celebrated her 100th birthday with a surprise party attended by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. In addition, many friends from Riviera Senior Living where she lived in her own apartment, attended the party. The children arranged to have a professional photographer at her birthday party, so there are many beautiful photographs which have been shared among the family.
Anne was predeceased by her parents, spouse, and siblings. She is survived by her five children and their partners, Dr. Faith O’Kelley and Sarah Smiley, Steven O’Kelley and Lillian Bouknight, Gwendlyn O’Kelley Trien, Phillip and Terri O’Kelley, Renee O’Kelley and David Nadler, as well as her 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Services for Anne were held at Riviera Senior Living on Sunday, January 8, 2023.
A memorial service will be held on February 11, 2023 at 1 pm in the chapel at Greenwood Memorial Gardens @ 3302 US-25, Hodges, SC 29653.
