Obituary

Anthony James Misiano, Sr., age 79, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 2, 2023.

Tony was born on September 21, 1943 in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Syosset High School on Long Island.  After High School, he went to trade school to become an electrician and joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Later, he was drafted into the US Army and was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska.

He had a great love for muscle cars and drag racing as a teen. He often teamed with his dad at the drag strip. The race track is where he met the love of his life, his wife, Laurie. He said the moment he laid eyes on her, he told his dad he would marry her. He devoted his life to loving her.

Together they had two children, Karin and Tony, Jr. When the kids were small, he moved the family to Altamonte Springs , Florida. He worked as an electrician for the construction of Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom and then later, Epcot Center. If you ever went to the parks with him in later years, he would point out every light he installed!

Tony was a very hands on Dad and Pop to his children and 5 grandchildren and loved to support them in all that they loved. He spent many long days at skate parks, soccer games, band concerts, dance recitals, and many other activities. He was very proud of his family and let everyone who would listen know!

Tony is survived by his daughter, Karin Tambert (Dan), son, Tony Misiano (Sarah); his grandchildren Alex (Sara), Laura, and Jack Tambert, and Sofia and Gianna Misiano; his sister, Roseann Camardo and his brother John Misiano (Luann).

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Laurie and his parents, Calto John Misiano and Rose Misiano.

A memorial service will be held at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home in New Smyrna Beach at 2:00 on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Karin and Tony (and the rest of the family). I haven't seen Uncle Tony in a long time, he was my Uncle and Godfather, distance and other reasons are my excuses for not being able to see him, but he was always family. I hope he is reunited with his one true love, Laurie. Thinking of everyone during this hard time.
