Obituary

Anthony Santo Vasta, 86, of Spring Hill, Florida passed away at his home Friday February 20, 2015. He was born in Calabria, Italy to Guiseppe and Francesca Vasta.In 1949 he came to America through Ellis Island. He taught himself English. He served in the Italian Marines. He moved to Deer Park in Long Island in 1969. In America he became a 1st class machinist in Brooklyn, NY, and opened Anthony's Pizza in 1971, the first pizza place in Pasco County, Florida. He sponsored may local organizations in Pasco County. He belonged to the Fraternal Order of Eagles, SunCoast No. 3153, Elks New Port Richey Lodge #2284 , He was the first president of the Italian American Club in Hudson Florida. He was a proud man who loved life and enjoyed Dancing, Bowling , and Fishing. He is survived by his loving wife Denise Vasta, of Spring Hill, Florida, his brother Pasquale Vasta and his wife Piera, of Spring Hill, one nephew Robert Vasta and his wife Elizabeth of Brooklyn NY, one niece Angelina Vasta of Brooklyn, Step son Terry Randall, Jr. on Livonia, MI, Step son William P. Randall of Livonia, daughter in law Jessi Randall, Step son Justin Randall of Westland, MI, step-daughter Amy Randall, of Livonia MI, Step son Scott Randall of Westland, MI and eight grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his beautiful smile and by "My darling " wonderful cook. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Wounded Warriors Project. Funeral Arrangments are pending at this time.
