Obituary
Arthur Womble was born on November 10, 1928. He departed this earthly life on Saturday, June 29 2019.
Art lost his mother very early in life and was on his own by the age of 15. He worked hard at many jobs from tree trimmer to short order cook to finally retiring as the Supervisor of Utilities for the City of Mt. Dora. One of his proudest accomplishments was starting Light Up Mt. Dora. The beloved Christmas legacy has grown bigger and brighter over the years. He enjoyed golfing and bragged of his getting a hole in one the first time on a golf course! He enjoyed golfing with his close neighborhood friends each week and also golfed throughout the U.S. including Palm Springs, Hawaii and Pebble Beach. Art was the love of Sharon’s life. He was strong, loving, kind, giving and always fun to be around. He was an amazing husband, father and the best Papa in the world. Sharon & Art met dancing 25 years ago. One look in his eyes and Sharon knew she would love him forever – more than yesterday, less than tomorrow. Art & Sharon’s biggest gift was to unite friends and family for gatherings. Everyone was welcomed and their home has enjoyed so many warm celebrations!
Visitation for Art will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2019 from 10:00 AM until the time of his Funeral Service at 10:30 AM in the Graceway Church 10200 Morningside Drive, Leesburg, FL 34788, PH: 352-728-1620, Burial will be held in the Greenwood Cemetery, Eustis, Florida 32726.
