Obituary
PORTER, Barbara Ann, 76 went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 21, 2017. Barbara is now at peace in the mansion that the Lord prepared for her.
Barbara was born on August 5, 1940 in Charleston, WV to Victor and Ruth Litteral. Barbara married Donald Edward Porter on November 28, 1959. Barbara served in the US Navy, 1958-1960. Barbara was employed in Jacksonville, FL by Furchgott’s and JC Penney Co., she retired in 2002. She was actively involved at Holiday Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family. Barbara was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She is preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Ruth; daughter, Dawn Woodle (Jason) and her husband Donald. She is survived by her sister, Jane Thims (Robert); daughters Jackie Williams (Gary), Cindy Barker (Carl); grandchildren Kristen, Joshua, Jeffrey, Lauren, Colin, Morgan, Riley; great grandchildren Kyle, Noah and Ashlynn; nephew Robert Phillip Thims; nieces Barbara Smith and Kimberly Miller; numerous great nieces and nephews, cousins and two surviving Aunts, Helen Compton Hogarth and Helen Carlson Compton. Services will be held on Thursday, January 26 at Baldwin Brothers at 954 E. Silver Springs Blvd, # 200, Ocala, FL 34470. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm and service at 2:00 pm. A memorial service will also be held at Holiday Hill Baptist Church, date to be determined. Interment services will be scheduled at Jacksonville National Cemetery, date to be determined.
