Obituary
Barbara Bartlett (87) of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away on October 23, 2020.
Barbara was born in Bloomfield, Kentucky on August 23, 1933 to Clellan and Sarah Louisa Virgin. She graduated from Bardstown High School in 1951. During her high school years Barbara participated in F.H.A., Chorus, and Annual Staff. She was Songleader of Class 48-49, Chaplain of Class 48-49, and President of Class 50-51. Barbara went on to receive an Associate Degree in 1953 from Christian College in Missouri.
Barbara was married to Lowell Vaughn in June of 1953 and remained his wife until his death in 1964. They had 2 children. In September of 1967 Barbara married Ralph in Ft Myers, Florida.
Barbara was a homemaker for most of her life, always putting the needs of her family first. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Barbara was a Methodist throughout her life and actively participated in Sunday School and choir. She also helped with MYF when her children were teenagers. Barbara loved the beach and boating. In later years, she was able to travel widely with Ralph in their RV.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Ralph; their daughters, Deborah of Mississippi and Elizabeth of Texas; their son, David of Florida; 6 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her cousin Charles of Bardstown, Kentucky and several nieces and nephews.
Barbara is preceded in death by her first husband, Lowell; her mother, Sarah; her father Clellan; and her granddaughter, Misty.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
