Obituary

Barbara J. Snyder, 71, a resident of the Oak Run Community in Ocala, entered her eternal home on September 29, 2021, following a three-week illness.

Born in Berwyn, Illinois on February 1, 1950 to Eugene and Agnes Cummiskey, she spent her early years in Wheaton, Illinois and graduated from Wheaton Central High School in 1968.

Prior to her retirement in January of 2020, Barbara enjoyed a career in real estate and property management in Roanoke and Fredericksburg, Virginia. More importantly, she partnered with her husband, Reverend Bradley Snyder, in local church ministry. For over thirty years they served congregations in Illinois and Virginia. Barbara was loved and admired by all who had pleasure of knowing her.

In addition to her husband, Barbara leaves behind three children, sons Matt (Allison) Snyder of Brooklyn Center, MN; Marcus (Joanna) Snyder of Martinsville, VA; Daughter, Bradi Witcher of Citrus Park, FL and eleven grandchildren; a brother, Tom (Sally) Cummiskey of Surprise, AZ and a sister, Amy (Trey) Adams of Pleasant Prairie, WI. and her faithful canine buddy, Tyrod.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Jan Gee of Ocala.

As much as Barbara loved her family, her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ was the consuming passion of her life.

A celebration of life is being planned for Barbara on Wednesday, October 20 at 11:00 a.m. in Cross Pointe Church, Ocala, where she loved serving and worshipping. This service will also be live-streamed at crosspointeocala.org In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Cross Pointe Church Mission Fund.

A second Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, November 18  1:30 pm at The River Church, 759 South Lenfesty Ave., Marion, IN.

    Pastor Brad,
We are heartbroken to learn of Barb's passing. We have so many fond memories of her from Parkway and especially our crazy adventures while house-hunting with her! She was a wonderful lady and we will never forget her. Such a sweet, bright light for Jesus. Our prayers are with you as you mourn. Much love,
    Mark and Gloria
