Obituary
Barry Edmond Packar (75), of The Villages, Florida, passed away on March 30, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born to Joseph and Selma Packar on July 11, 1942, in Passaic, New Jersey. In business, Barry prospered, as the owner of the International House of Cosmetics. He and his wife, Dorothy, were married 35 wonderful years, and in 2004, they decided to move to The Villages.
Some of Barry’s favorite things in life were a round of golf, smoking a good cigar and spending time with his family. He had a great love of travel with his family and friends. He had a great eye for pictures and was the “official” family photographer. Barry loved all kinds of music, but his favorites were Rock & Roll and Doo Wop. As a younger man in South Florida, where he grew up and spent most of his life, Barry performed songs as part of a musical group that had a song reach the billboard charts, but his Dad had other plans for him, so off to the University of South Florida he went.
Barry was a true gentleman, in every sense of the word. It is with great sadness that his family announces his passing, and it is undeniable that Barry will be deeply missed by all whose lives he has touched.
Barry is predeceased by his parents, Joseph Packar and Selma Packar (nee Pink).
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Packar (nee Cooney); his son by marriage, Ted Santiesteban; by his brother Ken Packar and his wife, Charlene; by numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, and then again by so many nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers, donations should be made the Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, FL, or the charity of your choice.
