Obituary
Betty E. Finnk, 72, of Ocala, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on February 19, 2024.
She was born in Jacksonville, Florida on June 2 1951.
Balancing a demanding career with motherhood was no small feat, yet she did it with grace
and strength. She earned her nursing degrees and specializing in Emergency Medicine and
Infection Control. As a mother, Betty brought the same nurturing care she provided to her
patients into our home. She was our rock – always there to offer comfort, guidance, and
unconditional love.
Betty was a artist, crafter and hobbyist. She enjoyed watercoloring, cross-stitching,
scrapbooking, cake decorating, and ceramics. During her retirement, Betty participated in
water aerobics and daily pool walking in her community. She was an avid reader, jigsaw
puzzler, and enjoyed traveling. She always was caring for friends and family. Betty loved
the beach, shell collecting, and “A Perfect Day”.
Betty is survived by her daughters Cassandra Watters (William) and Jacqueline Easley
(Christopher), and grand children, Sam Easley, Sarah Easley, Jacob Easley, and Jolie
Watters. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph LeFort and Marjorie Hubbell
and her sister Susan A. Steinle.
One of the most admirable aspects of our mother’s life was her ability to connect with
people. Whether it was a patient, a family member, friend or her own children, she had an
innate ability to ease fears, provide comfort, and impart wisdom. She was a mentor to all.
