BETTY S. MEADOWS

February 17, 1939 to April 13, 2016

Our beloved wife & mother Betty S. Meadows passed away at home in DeBary Florida on Wed April 13, 2016. She was born in Maben, West Virginia, the daughter of Charles T and Hildred (Franklin) Stevenson. Betty moved to Florida by age 9, she graduated from Oviedo High School, class of 57. Betty married Charles R. Meadows (Ret. M/Sgt), October 8, 1977; they were long-time residents of Colorado Springs.  Once retired, they moved to Texas Creek, CO for a number of years where they enjoyed the country life, mountains, and wildlife. In 2003, they settled in DeBary, Florida until her passing.  Betty had several jobs in her lifetime which included working at the Florida Technological University now known as (UCF), also moving on to Walter Drake & Sons in Colorado Springs, CO where she was a chief buyer. She was a hard working mother and dearly loved and cherished by her many friends.  She enjoyed entertaining, dancing, traveling with Chuck, and most especially spending time with her family. She belonged to Pikes Peak bowling association, Deer Mountain Lions Club; she was a member of East United Methodist Church in CO, and American Legion Auxiliary in Florida.  Betty is survived by her husband and loving friend of 39 years Charles R. Meadows. She will be sadly missed by her husband and family which include son Michael Wheaton, daughter In law Donna (Fayetteville, NC), daughter M. Kim Silvers and son in law Lee Silvers Jr.(Marshall, MI), five grandchildren Jennifer Silvers Travis (Ft Campbell, KY), Tiffany Silvers Gore (Marshall, MI), Lee Silvers III (Ft Bragg, NC), Eric Silvers (Marshall, MI), Mikey Wheaton (Colorado Springs CO) and six great grandchildren (Brayden, Shawn, Nola, Owen, Jackson, Ethan) as well as her sister Peggy (Ben) Stapleton (Apopka FL), brother Sonny (Willie Mae) White (South Carolina), and brother Jerry Stevenson . She was preceded in death by her parents. No funeral services will be held.  A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, April 20th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the American Legion Post #0259, 470 Summerhaven Dr. in DeBary Florida 32713. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to charity of choice in Betty’s name.
