Blaine Mace, 72, of Port Charlotte, Florida was born on September 2, 1948 in Indianapolis, IN to George and Ilene (Hodges) Mace who preceded him in death. His sister, Carole Mace, also preceded him in death.

Blaine grew up in Speedway, IN and graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1967 where he on the wrestling team. He served five years in the Indiana National Guard with two of those years as an air traffic controller before marrying Linda (Miller) Mace in 1974. He worked as a sales rep for Lorillard Tobacco Company for 35 years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking when he wasn’t at work or with his family. He later went on to become an award winning dog breeder, trainer and judge working exclusively with German Wirehaired Pointers. The North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association honored him many times from the mid 90s-early 00s with breeding and ability awards.

Survivors include his devoted wife of nearly 47 years, Linda Mace, three children, Jessica (Mark) Mace-Gamache, Michael (Jessica) Pennington and Katie (Troy) Mace. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Nolan, Dorian, Charlie, Genevieve and Lucas.

    Linda and family,
What a wonderful blessing to have know Blaine and be a neighbor for so many years. We have so many memories. Swimming at Westwood, cookout, kickball, baseball, but I think Richie’s favorite would the camping trips with Indian Princess.
You guys are all in ours thoughts and prayers.

    Richie, Sandy, Heather and Holly
