Obituary
Blanche Bunn went to be with her Lord on October 30, 2020 with her devoted husband by her side. Blanche was the daughter of the late Robert Glenn Sumner and Rebecca Gay Sumner. She moved with her family from Jackson, North Carolina to Raleigh when she was five and lived in the Raleigh area for many years. She and JB Bunn were married in 1983. They lived in Knightdale, Youngsville and Lake Gaston, making lifetime memories and friends, before making their home in North Fort Myers, Florida in 2013.
Blanche had a nineteen year career with Nortel and later worked with Gilmore Global. She loved to read. She was a great cook, sharing her dishes with family and friends. Most will remember her signature saying, “Love you Shuga, hugs”. She was a friend to so many people. She didn’t question if the glass was half full or half empty, she was just thankful for the glass!
Blanche is survived by her husband, JB Bunn of Florida; her sons: James Odette (Tommy Arthur), Robert Glenn Odette (Victoria Laton), and James Bunn (Faith); her granddaughters Rebekah Dean Vaughan (Justin), Kayla Moore (Bobby), and Samantha Chase (Josh). Two great-grandchildren are expected in 2021. She is also survived by her sisters: Frances Given (Jack), Betty Doughtie (Bob), and Rebecca Stallings, and her brother Buddy Sumner (Frances) as well as many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins who loved her dearly. She will be missed by family and friends.
Due to the current Covid situation, a Memorial service will be planned for a future date. Memorial contributions can be made to your favorite charity.
