Obituary
Bobby Long, age 81 passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024, with his long battle with dementia. Bobby was born in Franklin, NC on September 9, 1942, to the late parents: Ernest and Ruth Long. Survived by his wife of 51 years, Hattie Long of Dona Vista, FL; (2) sons, Terry Long of Howey, FL, Shane (Sherry) Long of Eustis, FL; (1) daughter, Autumn (Ted) Hottle of Altoona, FL; (5) grandsons, Shaye, Mitchell, Gage, Kaiden and Logan; (3) granddaughters, Lacey, Tori and Brooke (2) great granddaughters, Brynley & Ayla; (1) great grandson, Adam. He’s also survived by (2) sisters, Shirley and Josephine and (4) deceased sisters, Dorothy, Betty, Marie, and Pansy. Bobby was blessed with a large and loving family.
Bobby was employed 33 ½ years with Mercer Products. Prior to that he had his own roofing company Mid-Florida Roofing.
Bobby was the life of the party. He never met a stranger. He was our entertainer, loved to dance and our comedian. He loved old cars, baseball cards and making home videos of the grandkids. He was a great husband, dad, papaw and brother! He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bobby will be placed to rest with private ceremonies with both parents in Eustis, FL and Franklin, NC.
A celebration of life where good stories and memories will be shared will be held at the home of his daughter Autumn, location 42544 St. Rd. 19, Altoona, FL 32702, on Sat., April 13, 2024, at 12 PM. Family greatly accepts prayers and condolences.
