Obituary
Bruce Leo Perri, 72, passed away peacefully on September 27. 2017 at Halifax Health Hospice, Ormond Beach, FL after a long and courageous fight with cancer. He was born October 13, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY to Dr. Ernest and Betty Walker Perri former residents of Steubenville, OH and Ormond Beach, FL who preceded him in death. Bruce graduated from Wintersville High School, Wintersville, OH and Florida State University. He served in the United States Army. He worked in the hospitality industry for many years before moving to Ormond Beach in 2010. Bruce was the former manager of The Surfview Motel in Daytona Beach, and was owner of Nacho Grande Restaurant in Ormond Beach. He worked for the Department of Corrections in the food management area in Belle Glade, FL. His last business venture is Perri Marine Sales of Ormond. Bruce was a proud member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 44 serving the Daytona and Ormond Beach area. He has earned many awards and certifications through the Coast Guard but was most proud of receiving the Presidential Award for 4000 hours of volunteer service.
Bruce is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years Phyllis Hochman, formerly of Dayton, OH, now of Ormond Beach. His loving children, Vanessa Peri (Joseph) of Oviedo, FL, Robert (Bobby) Perri (Jennifer) of Ormond Beach, FL, and his stepson, Daniel Hochman of Manhattan, KS. His grandchildren; Ashlyn, Reagan, Lincoln & Lathan Peri and Brendon and Avery Perri. Sister, Janyth Perri Cich (Robert) of Dublin, OH, and Sister-in-law, Rochelle Laudenbach (Kenneth) of Bala Cynwyd, PA.
Bruce was a helpful and positive force in our lives and remained so throughout his illness. He was our HERO!!
Family will receive friends at a Memorial Service held on Sunday October 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Hunter’s Ridge Clubhouse, 100 Shadow Crossing Blvd., Ormond Beach FL, 32174.
