Carl Allen Jones, 55 of Apopka, FL formerly of Weirton, WV passed away peacefully on July 8th, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Carl was born March 28th, 1966 in Fairmont, WV to the late Carl E. Jones and the late Shirley Ann Lipscomb Jones and was raised by his step-mother Marjorie Kemp Jones and his father, the late Carl E. Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Francine Jones; son, Carl M. Jones; mother, Marjorie Kemp Jones of Wellsburg, WV; brother, Rick Robinson(Darlene) of Orange City, FL; brother, Gary Robinson of Weirton, WV; sister, Lori Robinson(Pat Lancaster) of Wellsburg, WV.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as many friends that loved him dearly.

Carl had recently retired after serving 31 years of service as the Purchasing Specialist for the City of Apopka. Carl was dedicated to his job and loved his “work family” at the City of Apopka.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and pets.  He enjoyed going to the shooting range and taking on various projects around the house.  He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and would never miss a game.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be announced at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Gary Sinise Foundation.

Carl, you were such a pleasure to work with! You embraced your work with compassion and pride. I will always remember the times we went out to lunch especially the time Marci turned on the heated seat and you almost jumped out the driver's side! LOL This memory always brings a smile and a chuckle each time I think about it. You fought a great battle and now you are no longer in pain. Fran and Carl Matthew, may God comfort you both and give you the strength you need as you face the future without your beloved Carl. My deepest sympathy. Cindy Haynes

Where do I start when it comes to Carl? He was a funny, loud, stubborn and one of the most sincere men I have ever encountered in my life. “What you see is what you get” applied to him. Even through all the pain he endured, the doctor & hospital visits, he kept a beautiful spirit and fought me and Fran to come back to work. He was dedicated, organized and very protective of his work. We always laughed when he was about to be out for procedure or dr appointments and I handled the warehouse. He was bossing me around and if I overlooked something he made sure to tell me “Don’t do this again stumping his cane”
    Fran and Carl Junior,
I am blessed to have met you through Carl. We haven’t spent face to face much time together but I can say confidently that there were times that I felt I was part of the family. I sensed the love and the care you both had for him. We prayed together (through texts) but our hearts were always connected and concerned for this good man.
    Fran,
You are a true example of a loving wife. You stayed by Carl side through it all. That’s true love and rare nowadays. I saw it and I know everyone that have been close to you did also. God will reward you in abundance ways for staying patient, committed even at times when Carl was cranky and not cooperating.
May our Lord Jesus bless you and Junior and rest Carl Sr’s soul in heaven.
    Amen

Carl was one of those rare individuals that never seemed down or unhappy or mean. The world is lessened by his loss.

I started at Public Services 15 years ago as the receptionist. Carl was always so helpful and would always be so kind to me when I worked down there. When I moved up to City Hall I would still see him from time to time. He was always so happy and so kind to everyone. He will be missed dearly. Sending hugs and many prayers to Fran and his family.

I only worked with you a year and a half in the purchasing warehouse. But you taught me alot! Loved how you tested me on the field parts.you were a friend and loved teasing you about your "Steelers" how you called in sick if they lost! Enjoy the games from Heaven.
