Carolyn Compton Rennie passed away peacefully on July 3, 2014 at the Halifax Health Hospice. She had been a long-time resident of New Smyrna Beach, Florida since 1979. She was predeceased in death by her husband, William V. Rennie; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee G. Compton; and her siblings Elizabeth C. Vincent, Donna C. Kaiser, and Mr. Ranis G. Compton.
Carolyn was born on May 30, 1922 in Cleveland, Virginia. She graduated from Mary Washington College (now the University of Mary Washington) and initially worked as a buyer in New York City. Subsequently she went to Petersburg, Virginia where she taught high school home economics. It was there that she met the love of her life, Billy Rennie. Carolyn and Billy were an inseparable couple and shared many common interests including golf, dancing and travel. Her passing has allowed them to be reunited once again.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews and her caregiver and friend, Julie Bowman.
