Casey G. Layshock, 28, a native of New Smyrna Beach died suddenly at home on Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Casey was born September 17, 1983 to Penny Hopson and Ronald G. Layshock. As a lifelong resident of New Smyrna, Casey’s life was centered on the water and the beach. He loved to surf and fish. He could be found on any given day riding the waves of New Smyrna Beach. Casey was a loving husband and a true friend. He is survived by his wife, Shannon; daughters, Summer Anne and Skylynn; step-daughter, Taylor West; step-sons, Tyler, Michael and Robert McClendon; parents, Penny Hopson and Ron Layshock; sister, Tina Layshock and two brothers, Toby and Brad Layshock. Casey was a soul that has touched many lives and was taken way to soon from us. His love of life and his children will always be remembered. His caring heart and smile will be with us forever. May he rest in peace looking down upon his family and forever live on within us all.
