Obituary

Chester J. Tralewski, peacefully passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019, in Bonita Springs, Florida at the age of 74.  Chester sadly leaves the love of his life, his devoted wife of 53 years. Chester was the beloved son of the late Chester & Mildred Tralewski. Chester is survived by his two children Pamela (Tony) Mistrata and Michael (April) Tralewski grandchildren Tony, Phil (Cynthia), Nick, Vince (Jessica), Emily and Michael. Great grandchildren Lillian and Raegan.

He was born July 27, 1944 in a Chicago, Il. Back of the Yards neighborhood. Grew up loving baseball, he played first for St. Cyril’s then St Rita. He had many memorable outings as the starting pitcher for St Rita and the Catholic league all-star team and was voted MVP his senior year. Known as the Southpaw from Rita and the Cat on First.

He met his wife of 53 years at a very earlier age. Grew up a block apart in the same neighborhood, playing games in the street and hanging out at the park. They dated in High School and married shortly after.

He loved his family and was very proud. Enjoyed watching the grandkids play the sports they love, Hockey, Baseball, Softball and Gymnastics. Especially loved making ice cream sundaes, root beer floats and homemade pizzas with the grandkids.

Chester worked as plant manager for Knight Paper Box Co. for 35 years. Took great pride in his work and enjoyed the challenges and every aspect of running the business. He loved the comradery and the opportunity to work with some of the best in the industry.

He had many friends and loved them all. Enjoyed all of the backyard parties with the greatest friends anyone could ask for. Had a few hang outs; The Delta Lounge, Rib House, Chuck’s and Demmas. The Moose, The Elks, Sneaky Pete’s and especially Doc’s and the Cottage on the beach. Was part of the craziest crews on the many Vegas trips, Fishing trips, Canoe trips, Ski trips, Florida Beach trips and tailgating at the many Bear and ND football games. He was a great teammate on some of the best teams and especially enjoyed the softball, bowling, and golf.

aka; Chester, Chet, CJ, Honey, Mr. T, Bub, Bubba, and Papa

Chester was my favorite patient! He always had a smile on his face when I came to visit him. He was so always so strong and had such a positive outlook. He always looked at situations with a glass half full attitude. I fortunately had the chance to meet his family and beloved grandchildren of which he was so proud! I will miss our visits so much Chester!
