Obituary

Christopher D. Hare United States Military Veteran     Christopher D. Hare (40) left us on January 7, 2013 Born November 10 1972 in Troy New York to Virginia (Hare) King. He graduated from New Smyrna Beach High School in 1990 where he was very active in the local FFA chapter. He then immediately joined the United States Army continued on to the 82nd Airborne Division and served our country in the Gulf war. Chris received both the Army Achievement Medal and the Good Conduct Medal  along with many other achievements. He was a plumber by trade and loved fishing, gardening, poker, music and the light of his life his daughter Alexis Faith Williams. Chris is survived by his Maternal Grandfather John W. Hare, his Mother Virginia L. King, Sisters Jessica L. Rivers, and CarrieBeth McDaniel, Brother-in-Law Eric D. Rivers and six nieces and nephews and many Aunts, Uncles and cousins both here in Florida and in New York.

    I met Chris back when he was stationed at Fort Bragg,NC with my then boyfriend SSG Robert "Bob" White. He and I lost touch over the years but I spoke with him back in 05' when Bob was killed in Afghanistan. We talked like no time had passed since we talked. We spoke of all the memories we had of each other and of our friend Bob. How the two of them spent a week with me in Myrtle Beach and all the fun we had. I was going through things tonight and thought I would try and find him again and catch up! Saddened and absolutely shocked to see that he had left this world. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I like to think that those two guys are in heaven telling stories and making each other laugh & smile. Two men gone but not forgotten!!! RIP Chris.. Love you friend!

    Seems like it was just yesterday...Just moved home and was thinking about looking for you. Again. VERY sorry I missed you.
    We wore those G&R and Orbison tapes ragged. Never forget the 'garage party's' and all of the other fun I'm glad I didn't miss. No doubt, we'll see you again, but for now just rest.

    I will always remember that smile of his. I am sad that he is gone. I just wish he had known all of lives he touched over the years. He is missed.

    Gone but not forgotten. Chris as you rest and find your peace make sure you watch over your beautiful daughter, guide her from where you are. Ill help her from here.     I cant stop replaying the memories, conversations, and even though I was with some of your family today..standing with Grandpa in the yard I kep hoping you were going to turn the corner n laugh at the attention you were getting but you didnt. Keep playing songs over n over on the radio..I really cared, loved you deeply as a friend. May you find your peace that youyou constantly searching for...as I woke up this morning looking up I remembered something I used to say ALL THE TIME to u.."Hey Chris do u wanna fly away with me?"     chris you will always be remembered as a great man with a loving heart and the best hugs a friend could ask for. you always had a way of making a friend smile when they wanted to cry. i will forever remember hanging on the porch listening to music and hearing simple man always. i will miss you so much much. my prayers go out to all in your family at this time, i know your watching down from above over all of us and that you will make sure everyone gets through this.
