Obituary
Christopher Ashley Grainger, 36-years old, set sail on August 29, 2019 surrounded by his family, close friend Debbie Hallisky and his Heavenly Father. He was born March 19, 1983 in Plano, Texas and is survived by his mother Susan Christine Peterson of Port Orange, father, Richard Dale Grainger and step-mother Anna Grainger of New Smyrna Beach, brother, Richard Kelly Grainger and sister-in-law Grace Grainger and niece Esmeralda Grainger of Port Orange. He was a graduate of Spruce Creek High School, a State Weight Lifting Champion, a Master Captain of Inspected Vessels 100 ton, a business owner.
Chris was much more than a son, a brother, an uncle, a brother-in-law and a friend. He was a talented artist, musician, fisherman, painter, mechanic and, above all, a lover of animals and nature. Chris immersed himself in music, watched sunrises, moonrises and studied the stars. He dreamed of being on the open seas and one day traveling to Bora Bora.
Although quiet and reserved, Chris was quick-witted with the ability to bring a smile to anyone’s face with just one comment. His friends and family will forever remember the laughter and his beautiful smile. He was sensitive, hard working, extremely intelligent, and always kind to others yet genuinely surprised when someone liked him. We hope he now can see how many people truly loved him, that he is pain free, at peace, and happy at last in paradise.
Fairwinds and following seas….
