Obituary

Connie Bousquet, 73.
August 28, 2021
Connie (Spellman) Bousquet, 73, of New Smyrna Beach, passed away peacefully with family at her bedside. She was born in Newark, Ohio on February 14, 1948 to the late Robert and Frances (Swain) Spellman. She was the loving wife of Gerard Bousquet with whom she shared 55 beautiful years of marriage.
A devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, Connie treasured her family and friends and easily shared laughter with everyone she met. She was most happy when everyone gathered in her home to share meals, play games and laugh. Connie enjoyed pet sitting and spending time with her friends. She especially liked painting and crafting with her sister.
Her love and good humor will live on in her children: Stephanie Mattas (Francis) of Greenville, SC., Denise Miller (Randy) of Port Orange, FL., Karen Bousquet (Scott Vine) of Lancaster, PA., and Robert Bousquet (Shayla) of Greenville, SC. Known affectionately as Nana, she was most proud of her five grandsons and two great grandsons: Justin Van Sickle (Stephanie), Derrick Van Sickle (Cassie), Alex Vine, Scott Bousquet, Adam Bousquet and great-grandsons Jordan Tipton and Dante Van Sickle.
A special thanks to her sister, Candy Kordeleski, brother in-law, Richard Kordeleski and sister in-law, Claire Saladay for dedicating their love and patience to the whole family during her illness.

A celebration of Connie’s life will be held September 24, 2021 at Baldwin Brothers 1 North Causeway, New Smyrna Beach, Fl 32169. Visitation from 2pm to 3pm with a service to follow.

The memories I have of Connie go way back to Newark High School. She was my dearest friend from 7th grade. As the years and miles separated us we still managed to keep in touch until the struggle with cancer became so strong with her and my husband, Bill. I will always remember how hard you worked to show me how to shoot an arrow without taking all of the skin off my arm, the sound of your laugh when you told one of your crazy jokes, the feel of your strong hugs and your devotion to Jerry and your children. I will miss you but I know that you are in a better place and I pray that the loving hand of God touches your family everyday.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. Hold tight to the memories Connie has left you with and turn to God when you feel weak or seek understanding of your loss.
Connie, there will never be a truer friend than you. Thank you for the memories you’ve left me with.
