Obituary

Daniel James O’Sullivan, of The Villages, FL, formerly of Horsham, PA, passed away on Wednesday, May 4th, 2022, in hospice with his wife Elaine by his side. He was 74.

Born in Philadelphia, he was one of three children of the late Cornelius and Edna O’Sullivan. He was preceded in death by his stepson, Scott Frey. His sisters, Patricia Ruggianio and Maureen McCabe also preceded him in death.

Dan was the Owner/Operator of Dan’s Hairstyling/Summit Cuts in Feasterville for over 42 years. During those years he was most proud that the sons of customers grew up to start bringing in their own sons. He was also a diehard Phillies fan and extremely happy that he got to witness the Eagles win the Super Bowl a few years ago; it was the one year you wouldn’t finding him screaming at the tv every Sunday in the fall.

Besides Elaine, Dan leaves behind his stepdaughter Julie (Jim) Kelchner, daughter-in-law Nicole (Gary) Grey and his grandchildren, Maijah and Isa Sanson-Frey, Nona and Desmond Grey, and Joey and Matty Kelchner. They will all share many memories of trips to Ocean City, trips to Portland and Seattle and “Paijah” watching their baseball and soccer games (despite him not enjoying soccer at all).

There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Wednesday, June 1st at 11AM at The Garden Worship Center, 12740 SE County HWY 484, Belleview, FL 34420.

So sorry to learn of Dan’s passing. I delivered his mail for many years and was a customer of his for many many years. We shared stories of the Phillies and Eagles and especially Frank Sinatra. I gave him a couple framed pictures of Sinatra that he proudly hanged in his shop. When I moved to Chalfont, I no longer went to his shop but I did have him in my thoughts many times. In 2011 he helped my wife make arrangements for my 60th b-day celebration in Clearwater, Fl; a surprise gift from my wife. Rest In Peace Dan, we had many laughs together and I’ll cherish our times together.

Dan cut my hair for thirty years at Summit Cuts and we became friends and neighbors in Horsham. We had a mutual passion for sports especially our Phillies and Eagles. My deepest sympathies to Elaine and their family. He was a great guy and friend!!

There are certain people who you are glad to have met. Dan is one of them. He cut my husband’s hair for years and then he cut our small son’s hair. I was a somewhat nervous mom but going to see Dan and watching my so hop up into that chair with the balloon cape remains such a strong and happy memory. Thank you Dan. Rest easy

So sorry to hear of Dan’s passing. I delivered his mail for 10 years at Summit Cuts and every summer we tried to solve the Phillies problems in the few minutes we had every day. Also gave me the best haircuts. Rest In Peace my friend!
