Obituary
Daniel Lee Sutch died peacefully at home in Ormond Beach, Florida, surrounded by family, at the age of 83 on August 24, 2021.
Dan was born in Pittsfield, MA to the late Jeanne and Wilson Sutch in 1938, and grew up in Delmar and Galway, NY. He served honorably in the United States Army before having a successful career in software development as a programmer and software quality assurance analyst with GE and SPS.
Dan had a passion for science and loved sharing this passion with his family and friends. He could spark up a conversation with anyone and always made people feel important. Dan was an avid cyclist and walker. He enjoyed jazz music and classic cars. Most of all, Dan loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judith Sutch of Ormond Beach, FL, his children Dennis Sutch of Falls Church, VA, Brian Sutch of Manchester, CT, Scott Sutch (Michelle) of Oviedo, FL, Laurie Godfrey (Chris) of St. Petersburg, FL, his grandchildren Lindsay, Chelsea, Drisana, Kiera, Daniel, Samantha, and Falen, and brothers Gerald Sutch of Stamford, NY, Fred Sutch of Galway, NY, and Rodney Sutch of Hendersonville, TN, and many other extended family members and friends.
At Dan’s request there will be no memorial service. The family will be placing a bench in his memory at one of the local parks where Dan enjoyed walking.
Memorial donations may be made to the Museum of Arts & Sciences—Daytona Beach or Halifax Health Hospice.
