Love you,
Hobbit
His laugh was infectious; his hands were large; he was strong like an ox, but gentle as a lamb unless you were making eyes at his girl - a little blonde beaury named Shirley! His love for her was strong and true and I gues he thought worth fighting for - as his adversary would soon find out - in an alley behind the theatre for her honor he fought.
I'll never forget when he told me he had orders for Viet Nam. All I could think of to say was "Come back in one piece." He was the first kid from our neighborhood to go, and it still seems like a bad dream.
The last time I saw him, we shared a beer in a bar on 9th Street. He said he was going to Florida and I never saw him again. But on Sept 26, 2012 this old world lost a damn good man - Danny Doss - and I loved him like a brother. I hope to see him again on the other side.
My sincere sympathy to his loved ones.........Jerry Ferguson
Wanted to let you know how sorry we were to hear about Danny. Know that he will be missed by us and our hearts and prayers are with you during this time. Wish that we could be there. Love you
