Obituary

David G. Carter, age 72, of Lady Lake, FL, went to be with the Lord on August 4, 2021. His battle with serious medical issues for the last 17 years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile.  His humor knew no bounds and always left you shaking your head.

Born May 25, 1949 in Akron, Ohio, the son of Gordon and Faith Carter, David lived a full and adventurous life.  David loved restoring cars, riding motorcycles, and traveling with his friends and family. As the patriarch of the family, David was always there when he was needed providing life advice, emotional support, or a good laugh and seemed to know just what was needed.  David was a great man and friend to all.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his partner, Roberta White; his mother, Faith Carter; his children Douglas Carter (Cris Carter), and Jason Carter (Rebecca Carter), Robert White, Allen White, Jennifer Smock (Wes Smock); his brother, Stephen Carter (Elsbeth Carter); his sister, Joy Reynolds (Van Reynolds); his ten grandchildren; and his ten great-grandchildren.  David was also a beloved uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. His father, Gordon Carter, preceded him in death.

A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
