Obituary

David Wayne Shadrick, age 73, passed away from this earthly life in the loving arms of his wife on November 15, 2021.

David is survived by his wife of 46 years Linda Rudy Shadrick, his daughter Shaelyn West, Spouse Mike, Grandchildren, twins Brooklyn and Britney, Kris, Kasey and Kyle West, his son Will Shadrick, Spouse Sara, Grandchildren Jacie and Logan Shadrick and Chelsea Salcido. His sister Debbie Wallace, numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces. He is predeceased in death by his parents Jerry and Nova (Corky) Shadrick, brother Dennis Shadrick, brother-in-law Randy Wallace, his grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

David grew up in the Oklahoma City area and retired in 2018 after 35 years of service as an Aircraft mechanic from Tinker Airforce Base where he made lifelong friends. David was an awesome family man, a loving and devoted husband and father. He married Linda in 1975 and together they built a wonderful life.

David loved life; he was loved by all. He truly was one of “The Good Ole Boys” he was an honest and hard-working man-his handshake was his word. He adored his family and enjoyed the outdoors; boating, hunting, fishing, riding his Harley, food, drinking beer, and he loved hanging out with his work buddies. “You motha’s ain’t gunna believe what I ate for dinner last night.”

A small memorial service was held in Florida, with family. Per David’s wishes, cremation was entrusted to Baldwin Brother’s Funeral Home.

The family requests all you Good Ole Boys and Girls Raise your Glass for one big toast to “Shad Daddy.”

Family requests donations be made to Alzheimer’s association or plant a tree in David’s honor.

Friends and Family are invited to share in a video remembering the life of David at https://youtu.be/uU5dAa0E4Bc

I HEARD ABOUT IT A FEW DAYS AFTER FROM OUR OLD FUEL CREW. I WORKED WITH HIM FROM 2005 TILL HE WENT TO SWINGS. YOU GUYS ACTUALLY LIVED DOWN THE STREET FROM ME AT 89TH AND SOONER. DAVE WAS ALWAYS SO UP BEAT. YOU KNOW HIS FAVORITE WORD F… AND HIS OTHER FAVORITE WORD COMBINATION MOTHER F... I SAW HIM ABOUT A YEAR AGO AT DOLLER GENERAL AND HE HAD NO IDEA WHO I WAS. WE WERE SUPPOSE TO BE WEARING MASK IN THE STORE. BUT YOU KNOW BREAK THE RULES DAVE. SO HE WAS TELLING THE PERSON AT THE CHECKOUT ABOUT THE WEATHER. SO I SAID. MOTHER F... DAVE DO YOU EVER FOLLOW THE RULES? HE TURNED AROUND AND GAVE ME THIS STRANGE LOOK (I HAD A MASK ON) AND SAID HI, HOW YOU DOING. THEN TURNED BACK AROUND AND TO LD THE WEATHER STORY AGAIN. IT WAS SAD TO SEE THAT HE DIDNT REMEMBER ME. BUT, I HAD HEARD FROM PAUL ABOUT HIS CONDITION. I WANT TO REMEMBER THE WAY DAVE WAS, YA KNOW. SO I NEVER CAME OVER TO VISIT. LINDA, I DONT PERSONALLY KNOW YOU BUT HE ALWAYS SPOKE VERY POSITIVE OF YOU. ALSO I KNOW FOR SURE WHAT HE WAS EATING FOR DINNER. HIS FAVORITE MUST HAVE BEEN WHAT HE CALLED "A THING". HE ALWAYS TALKED ABOUT HAVING A THING AND BEER AFTER WORK.
