Obituary
DENNIS A. TEXTER, 77, of Port Orange, Florida passed away February 5, 2024, at Port Orange Hospice.
He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on April 14, 1946, to the late Albert Texter and Jacqueline Texter. He graduated from Mainland High School, Daytona Beach, Florida in 1964.
Subsequently, he married Lois A. (Toni) PerMar, joined the US Navy in 1965 and proudly served his country. He was stationed at Quonset Point, Rhode Island for four years. Dennis served three tours in Vietnam as a US Navy Sea Bee. During his tenure in the US Navy his two sons were born, Dennis R. Texter and John C. Texter.
After leaving the Navy he returned to Daytona Beach in 1972 and worked in sales. From there he moved to Louisville, Kentucky where he married and had one daughter, Marlena Rae Texter.
He is survived by his son Dennis R. Texter, wife, Kimberly A. Texter, New Smyrna Beach, FL, grandson Cole C. Texter, Port Orange, FL. Also, his son John C. Texter, wife Kathryn Wallace Texter, New Smyrna Beach, FL and granddaughter, Summer M. Texter, Deland, FL. Further, he is survived by his brother, Paul L. Texter and wife Annette, as well as niece Deborah Texter Parks, Ormond Beach, FL and nephew Paul L. Texter II, Port Orange, FL.
Funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m., April 5th at the Canaveral National Cemetery, interment to follow.
Reception to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Anglers Club located at 2 N. Causeway, New Smyrna Beach, FL.
