Obituary

Denny Gordon Rager Jr, age 48, passed away suddenly on December 3, 2021. He was born September 19, 1973, in Toledo, Ohio to Denny and Patricia Rager. Denny was an accomplished Tennis Player and worked as a Director of Tennis in Florida for 23 years. His love for Tennis came as a young child and he earned a scholarship to play at Stetson University where he received his Bachelor Degree in Sports Medicine. He went on to win numerous awards, including “Pro of the Year” and voted as All Trans-Atlantic Conference Team. After college, he worked at different clubs around Southwest Florida where he designed and ran the Tennis and Fitness Programs. He touched the lives of so many through the world of tennis. In his spare time, his other passion was fishing. He loved to go out on the water and was most at peace there. Denny had the most infectious smile and cared so deeply about those in his life. However, his greatest accomplishment is his two sons, Trey and Reid, and his memory will live on through them.

Denny is proceeded in death by Patrica Rager (Mother), Richard and Lillian Rager (Grandparents), Claire Porter (Grandmother), Dick Rager (Uncle). He is survived by sons, Trey and Reid Rager and the mother of his children, Jennifer Birdsong, Denny Rager (Father), Denise (Kerry) Checketts (Sister), Tom (Sandy) Karr (Brother), Doreen Bucher (Sister), Tammy (Keith) Munzert (Sister), Shelly (Earl) Robinson (Sister), and as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
