Obituary

Amfahr, Donald Francis, 86, passed away on August 15, 2015. He was born in Jesup, Iowa on June 13, 1929 to Conrad and Margaret (Schuler) Amfahr. He moved to Central Florida in 2005 with his wife Sandra. Donald was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving from 1946-1953. He completed tours in WWII and Korea. Donald graduated from Northwestern University with a BBA in 1972. Donald was a Past President and honorary member of Grocery Manufacturers Sales Executives of Chicagoland; Past President-Merchandise Executive Club of Chicago; President and majority owner of Iroquois Popcorn Co., Elk Grove, Illinois 1991-1998; President of Maurice Lenell Cookie Company, Chicago, Illinois 1987-1990; President of Delicious Cookie Company, Chicago, Illinois 1983-1987; President of Dairy State Foods, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 1981-1983; and Vice President and General Manager of Salerno Megowen Biscuit Company, Chicago, Illinois. Donald is survived by his wife- Sandra Jane Amfahr and five children: Michael Amfahr, Deborah Jones, David (Donna) Amfahr, Jeffrey (Carol) Amfahr, and Lori Hilliard; 9 grandchildren: Brian (Sarah) Jones, Melissa Jones, Jennifer (Michael) Slagor, Donald (Stephanie) Amfahr, Julie (Matt) Sayre, Christy (Rafal) Krzemien, Nichole (Sagen) Bradley, Amanda Hilliard, Steven Hilliard and 3 greatgrandchildren: Margaret Slagot, Matthew Krzemien and Joseph Bradley; 1 sister: Jane (Ronald) Barnett and 1 brother in law: Kent (Candy) Dolmseth. Donald was preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Amfahr; parents: Conrad and Margaret Amfahr; sister: Eileen Fisher; brothers Alfred and Ronald Amfahr, son-in-law Rodney Jones; and niece: Sandra Fisher.
