Obituary

Donald Wright Connell, Jr., 66 of Ocala died on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 with his family by his side. Don was born on September 29, 1946 in Oak Park, Illinois to the late Dorothy and Donald Connell, Sr. He attended the University of Florida and worked as a stock trader for many years.  Don last worked for Pratt Industries in 2013 and enjoyed music, sports, film, politics, and was an avid reader. Don will be remembered for his humor, intelligence, and unending positivity for all that life presented to him and his family. His kind spirit was infectious to all who were blessed to know him. He is survived by his son, David of Neenah, WI; two grandchildren, Virginia B Connell and Gavin J. Connell; sister, Donna J. Lotts of Titusville, Fl two nieces, Tracy Lehrfeld and Carrie Wilmer, great niece Lauren Lehrfeld and great nephew, Cody Wilmer. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, Financial Management Branch – Gift Fund, 5635 Fishers Lane, Room 3011, Bethesda, Maryland 20892-9304.  Private services will be held by the family.  To share a memory with the family visit www.BaldwinCremation.com

    Words cannot express the loss we feel. All of us in the Cocoa area will forever be touched by you. You and your family embraced me with love and compassion beyond my comprehnsion. I love your laugh, and your wit but most of all your commitment to enjoy what life had to offer even if it wasn't what you expected or wanted. I learned so much from you my friend. May your search be satified now. I want to thank you for my life because you saved it when I was at my lowest point in life. You were a God send to me and my children. To repay only a fraction of what I had gotten from you and your family I plan on giving the love that you shared with me to those who step into my life. I hope someday we will meet again...     My big brother.......now and always. Over the years miles and our lives separated us but our hearts were always connected. The emptiness I feel is beyond my scope of understanding. My only solace is knowing you are at peace and your demons are put to rest.
