Obituary
Donna Sue Myers nee Stowell (77) of Osteen, FL passed away May 9th, 2023, following an extended illness. Donna was born to the late Virginia Stowell nee Brooke and Lyle Don Stowell on September 10, 1945. Donna attended Seminole Community College where she received her LPN license.
Donna is survived by her sister Maxine Schwartz, brother Vince Stowell, sons Daniel Becker and Samuel Becker (Kristin) and daughter Dr Dana Zanone (Tom), her beloved grandchildren Leigh Zanone, Kate Zanone-Hill, Holly Fuoss, Kelly Philpot, Victoria Murk, Bryson Becker, Dylan Becker and Delaney Becker along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Donna was married to Kenneth Myers who proceeded her in death in 1994 as well as her beloved daughter Darlene Colgate in 2015 and her brother Lyle “Corky” Stowell.
Donna was a free spirit who spent much of her younger years traveling and living in different places around the country. Eventually, she returned to the Osteen-Enterprise area where her family has deep roots. She then worked for various doctors and hospitals in the Sanford, Deltona and New Smyrna Beach areas in women’s health and primary care before retiring. Donna had a sharp intellect and a deep love of literature, science, and logic which she passed along to her children. She believed in fairness and freedom for all people. One of her most famous quotes that has been passed along was her way of keeping her children safe while swimming, “Never swim where you cannot see the bottom of the water.” Her family thinks this is great advice.
