Obituary

Dori Nash
5/21/1934 – 3/10/2024
Dori passed away peacefully in her sleep at home. Though some never meet their “soul mate”, Dori often stated she was extraordinarily blessed by marrying happily twice: first for 20 years and then 30 years. She was proceeded in death by husband Ted Huerlander, husband, Tommy Nash, two sons: Mat Huerlander and Jimmy O’Rourke, Jr., and one obnoxious but loved chihuahua, Linnie. She is survived by daughters Susan Marrazzo (Steve), Bonnie Giacalone (Ben), Cheryl Bosco (Burley), Debbie Stramella (Mike), and Nancy Fowler. Dori also has 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Special mention to best friend JaneAnn, dear friend Melinda, and her dedicated caregiver June. Dori was born and raised on Long Island, New York and moved to Florida in 1980. Initially, she lived in New Smyrna Beach, then Daytona Beach, and most recently Port Orange. Many will remember Dori as an exceptional bowler, participating in years of tournaments and later, teaching bowling. She never met a bingo parlor she didn’t like and was loved by her numerous bingo buddies. Somewhere in heaven, we hope her number is called and she gets to yell “Bingo!” for the Jackpot. In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations to Dori’s special organizations which include the Port Orange Elks, Epiphany Church, and the dedicated staff of Halifax Hospital.
