Obituary
DOROTHY C. BERO
May 3, 1930 – October 25, 2022
Dorothy Carlo Bero, 92, of Cape Coral, FL. died on October 25, 2022 at home surrounded by loving family. She was born on May 3, 1930 in North Tonawanda, N.Y., a daughter of Benjamin and Rose (Spencer) Carlo.
A resident of Florida for the past 20 years, she previously lived in Geneva, N.Y. She graduated from the University of Buffalo and obtained a Registered Nursing degree. Her career as a pediatric O.R. nurse was cut short to be a sensational stay-at-home mother, raising her 4 children. She was also a loving and devoted wife to Donald Bero for 61 years. When she wasn’t cooking or baking, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing cards, traveling around the world, and golfing (where she managed to get 3 Hole-in-Ones). When in the presence of Dorothy’s beautiful kind soul, you felt loved and loved her. She was mild-mannered, considerate, cute, sweet, funny, generous, brave, classy, and a respected woman who will be profoundly missed by her family and her many friends.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Donald G. Bero, her parents, three sisters (and brother-in-laws) and one brother (and sister-in-law).
Dorothy is survived by her children, Donald (and Patty) Bero of Ithaca, NY; Thomas (and Pat) Bero of Cape Coral, Fl; Robert (and Diane) Bero of Oak Island, NC; and Judy Bero (and Anthony Batill) of Cape Coral, Fl; her grandchildren, Bobby (and Rosemary), Joey (and Lindsey), Michael (and Mary Catherine), Jessica, Amie, Danielle and Trent; her step-grandchild, Katelind (and Ryan) Bigler; her three great-grandchildren, Bennett, Owen, and Hannah; and several wonderful nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life on January 6, 2023 (11:00 a.m.) at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Cape Coral Florida. They ask that any donations be made “In Memory of Dorothy Bero” and sent to Hope Hospice, Attention: “Hope Development Department”, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Fort Myers, Florida 33908. Please also add a note requesting that the donation be sent to the Cape Coral Hope Hospice House. Thank you.
Happy for you and Dad!
Keep dancing you two……
