Dorothy enjoyed working with children, and touched many young lives as a teacher’s aide with specialized training in remedial reading at Jefferson elementary school in Trenton, NJ until she retired in 1994.

Dorothy did so much work for her community. She did volunteer work for the Food for Friends Soup Kitchen in Rahway, NJ, was active in the Sunday School at the Church of the Holy Comforter, and was co-chair of their annual Easter Food Drive. In later years, she was a volunteer worker for the food pantry at Trinity Episcopal Church in Woodbridge. As busy as she was, Dorothy managed to find time to run many bus trips across the country for Diamond Tours, while still being very active in the Rahway Senior Citizens group, the Golden Age Club, and being voted “Senior of the Year” by The City of Rahway in 2009.
She was an overall amazing lady, who was loved by everyone she encountered.
