Obituary

Dorothy Spellman Farrar, age 89 of Tavares, Florida passed away peacefully, Monday, December 18, 2023, with loved ones at her side. She was born to the late Clarence and Annie Spellman of Houlton, Maine on October 6, 1934.
She graduated from Houlton High School, worked as a switchboard operator at the Telephone Company and a was long time employee of Houlton Regional Hospital eventually retiring in Bangor, Maine and then moving to Tavares, Florida.
She was a lifelong reading enthusiast, she enjoyed crocheting/knitting, doing jigsaw puzzles, playing Bingo with friends and loved to be on the go with friends and family!
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Gaylond Farrar. She is survived by her sons Ronnie and his wife Shelley of Tavares, Florida, and Stephen and his wife Bernadette of Calais and Houlton Maine, daughters Debra Guerin of Veazie, Maine, Elaine Hosford of Tavares, Florida, and Jane and her husband Randy Money of Estillfork, Alabama and Tavares, Florida. Five Grandchildren Galen Farrar and his wife Rhiannon, Gregory Farrar and his wife Kaylan, Hugh Farrar, Zara-Anne Farrar and Rylee Guerin. Four Great Grandchildren Emelia, Odin, Wyatt and Westin Farrar and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers Phillip, Clayton, Eugene, Fred and her sisters Priscilla Clark and Patricia Spellman and her recently deceased sister Phyllis Oliver, who died December 19, 2023.
A graveside service will be held in Hodgdon, Maine in the Spring/Summer date to be announced.
