DOUGLAS THOMAS MIERZYKOWSKI, 72
Douglas Thomas Mierzykowski, 72, of Boxford, Massachusetts, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016, at his home in Ormond Beach, Florida.
Doug was born August 12, 1944 in Winthrop, Massachusetts to Kazimierz and June (Mosley) Mierzykowski. He graduated from Masconomet Regional High School in 1963 and then earned a Business degree from Burdett College. On December 30, 1967 he married the love of his life, the former Janet Rita Greenler, at Saint Mary’s Church in Georgetown, Massachusetts. Doug enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country throughout the United States and overseas on four continents. He retired after nearly 23 years of dedicated service and was a patriot until his final breath. Upon moving to Florida, he became an invaluable member of the Social Club at Aberdeen in Ormond Beach, directing and performing in many productions, including the popular “Follies.”
Doug is survived by his wife, Janet, of Ormond Beach, FL, his daughter, Stephanie (Mierzykowski) Davis, and his son, Shawn Patrick Mierzykowski. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Natalie Anne Davis, Keith Allen Davis, Taylor Kathleen Mierzykowski, and his Great Grandson Noah James Hancock all in North Carolina. Doug was blessed with many friends at Aberdeen and will be sorely missed.
