Obituary

Dwight Lowell Wilson, Sr. of The Villages, FL.  Dwight was born in LaGrange, IN on December 27, 1933; died in The Villages, FL on November 30, 2021  Dwight and his wife, Astrid moved to The Villages in 2006 from Shrewsbury, PA where they had resided for 36 years.  Prior to that they lived in Baltimore Maryland and were members of Perry Hall Baptist Church, then upon moving to FL, he attended First Baptist Church of Leesburg. Dwight played the trombone and sang in the choirs both at PHBC and at First Baptist.  He is a former member of the National Christian Choir.

Dwight served in the U.S. Army as a telecommunications specialist.  He worked for Western Electric Co and AT&T.   He attended night school and graduated in 1975 with a BS from Johns Hopkins University.

Dwight is survived by his wife, Astrid and five children:  Denise (Bob) Fike, Dwight (Sharon) Wilson Jr., Dawn (Tim) Parry, Diana (Michael) Summers and Darrell (Jen) Wilson together with 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his brother Ronald (Annette) Wilson, Sr.; and sister Janean (Oakes) Gernert; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Wilson.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Merrill and Martha Wilson and a brother, Larry.
