Obituary
Earl J. Lauridsen was born on December 15, 1921, to Simon Lauridsen and Marie Bach
Lauridsen in Chebanse, Illinois. He passed away at his home in Altamonte Springs, Florida, on
September 7, 2019, surrounded by his family and wife of 73 years. Earl was a proud army
veteran who served as a Telegraph Operator in Iran shipping supplies to the Allies during WWII.
He earned the Good Conduct Ribbon and European African Middle Eastern Ribbon during his
service and received an Honorable Discharge at the end of the war in 1945. Upon his return to
the United States, he met the love of his life and remained married to her the past 73 years.
They owned and operated a small farm in Wheatfield, Indiana, before moving to Valparaiso,
Indiana, where Earl worked as a machinist at McGill Manufacturing and the Anderson
Company, before moving to Altamonte Springs in 2014. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth
Paterkiewicz Lauridsen; three children Ken (Rose) Lauridsen, Deb (Roger) Kleist, and Denise (
Larry) Koebcke as well as grandchildren Jeff (Luly) Lauridsen, Lori Lauridsen, Jason Lauridsen,
Nathan (Cassi) Kleist, Jessica (Chris) Kleist, Matthew Koebcke, Meghan Koebcke and great
grandchildren Grayson Kleist, JJ Lauridsen, and Andy Lauridsen. Earl was of the Roman
Catholic faith, loved his family, worked tirelessly his whole life, was devoted to his wife, and
touched all he met with his spirit of kindness and love. He will be missed so much.
Graveside Service will be held. Monday, October 14, 2019 at 9 A.M. at Cape Canaveral NAtional Cemetery, Mims, Florida.
