Obituary
Edward Vincent Horn, age 88 of Tavares, Florida passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 12, 2021, at Brookdale Lake Tavares Assisted Living Facility. Edward’s health had deteriorated rapidly in the last six months. Edward was born in Coldwater, Michigan to Beatrice and Edward Horn. He grew up in Homer, outside of Jackson, Michigan.
Edward worked on his family farm for many years and also retired with 30 plus years from Clark Equipment Company, originally in Jackson, Michigan and later in Statesville, North Carolina. He was a Korean War veteran, who was stationed in icy Alaska. He was happily married to Billie June Hobbs/Snow for more than 39 years until her death from cancer. Billie and Ed also ran a booth at several flea markets selling collectible glass and beer steins for more than 20 years. After Ed’s retirement from Clark Equipment, they moved to central Florida to be near Billie’s daughter, Karen.
Ed enjoyed travel, especially cruises, eating and playing card games with anyone willing to lose frequently. He never met a stranger and was full of stories to share. One of his favorite lines was, “Let me tell you a story…”
Ed is survived by his sister, Francesca, two nephews and their children, his son Michael Edward Horn (Dawn), his grandchildren Sierra, Chet and Avery Horn, his daughter Vonnie Horn, his stepdaughter Karen and her husband, Mark Grueninger.
Arrangements are pending, but Ed will be cremated and buried with his dear wife, Billie in Barlow, Kentucky.
