Elfriede Wissig Benson, 82, affectionately known as Friedi, of Orlando died Saturday, August 25, 2012 at home with the family by her side after a brief illness. Friedi was born August 6, 1930 in Leihgestern, Germany to the late Emma (Dern) and Willie Wissig. Friedi moved to the United States in 1964 with her husband and three children and settled in Orlando. Friedi was a dedicated and loving mother who lived for her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for being an outstanding homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Benson. Friedi is survived by her loving children, Christiane Bostick (Jim) Orlando, Mark (Teri) Orlando, Atlanta, and Bill (Susan) Winter Haven; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren and sister, Elli and her husband, Willie Schmandt of Germany. Funeral services will be held in Germany at a later date.
