Obituary

Elizabeth Anne Nardini, known to her loved ones as Beth, passed away on November 10, 2023, in Sarasota, Florida, at the age of 70. She was born on March 21, 1953, to James and Ruth Cannon of Worcester, Massachusetts.

Beth’s family moved to Leominster, Massachusetts, where her educational journey began.  She graduated Leominster Highschool, Class of 1971.  She then attended college at Framingham State University.  Shortly after graduating college, Beth was married to John Nardini and moved to Billerica, Massachusetts.  She pursued a career in education, working as a teacher and later as a teaching assistant at Arey Country Day School in Billerica.

Beth had the most captivating blue eyes and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was known for her quick wit and a sarcastic sense of humor but she was caring, thoughtful and giving. She never missed an opportunity to send a card or a funny note to loved ones. She had a unique way of adding a touch of colorful language to her conversations, which to those who knew her, almost always resulted in uncontrolled belly-aching laughter at the most inappropriate times.  Beth always ended a  conversation with her trademark, “Bye, Bye, Bye.”  Three simple words we all wish we could hear one more time…

Despite her declining health, Beth refused to let her difficulties define her. When her eyesight began to fade, she equipped herself with the largest magnifying glass she could find. When walking became difficult, she fearlessly rode a mobility scooter, popping wheelies at Hershey Park. And when she couldn’t make it to happy hour, well… she had happy hour brought to her. Beth’s resilience and determination were truly admirable.

Beth’s greatest joy in life was her granddaughter Autumn, whom she loved more than anything in this world. She cherished every moment, especially time spent poolside in Florida or in New York watching Autumn perform.

Beth is survived by her son, John Ryan Nardini of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, daughter, Jamie Jo Nardini, and her granddaughter, Autumn Elizabeth Nardini of New City, New York.  She is also survived by her loving sister and best friend Ellen, and her husband William Mason of Houston, Texas, as well as her nephews Gregory, Scott, and Christopher Mason, also from Houston.  In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she is survived by her favorite nieces, Kimma Keevil and Heather Earley.

Beth was preceded in death by her father, James Edward Cannon, her mother, Ruth Ellen (Grady) Cannon, her husband, John Joseph “Buddy” Nardini, and her two sisters in law and dear friends, Carolyn Lee (Nardini) Mullaney and Joanna Maria (Nardini) Kun.

A remembrance of life is being planned to honor Beth’s memory. Details of the service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations in Beth’s name be made to the World Wildlife Fund. This would be a fitting tribute to her love for animals, especially elephants.

Beth will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her vibrant spirit, humor, and love for her family will live on in our hearts forever.
