Obituary

Emmerich John Bares III

July 29, 1942 – January 15, 2022

After a courageous and valiant battle with cancer, Emmerich John Bares III passed away January 15th, 2022 with his beloved wife at his side and surrounded by love from family and friends.

Born in Binghamton, NY, he was the son of the late Emmerich J and Mary Jane Bares. He attended Binghamton North High School and went on to Broom Tech Community College and Missouri Valley College. He began his working career in the family business carving granite and marble. He went on to form many businesses throughout his life. Challenge was his middle name.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Thompson Bares, his two daughters, Kimberly Bares (partner Beth Aldana), Jennifer (husband Don) Murphy and two granddaughters, Zoe Bares-Langer and Abby Murphy. He is also survived by one brother, Richard (Barbara) Bares.

Outside of work, you could find John serving and donating many hours, for over 25 years, to AAONMS Kalurah Temple, Binghamton where he was master of his lodge. He was a F&AM for 51 years.

In his later years, following a move to The Villages, Florida, John enjoyed golf and became a member of The Villages Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays Club, a true passion of his.

Having proudly served, arrangements are being made for John’s remains to be placed in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 2PM for veterans.

John worked with us as outside contractor at 2265 Roswell Road, Marietta, GA. John handled many difficult jobs for us. John was extremely smart, hard working and a pleasure to work with and to know as an outstanding person in life. Always smiling and thoughtful about how to solve problems. We've missed John since he moved to FL and have kept up with him through neighbors who loved him dearly.

Thoughts and prayers are with John's wife and family. So thankful we got to meet John in life. He was a very good man.
