Obituary
Emmett Thomas Waters, 90, of Mims, FL passed away peacefully at his home on February 22, 2024 after living a long, full life. He was born in Dundee, FL on August 9, 1933 to Leslie and Ellen Waters. He grew up with his brothers Ronald and Rodney and sister “Tootsie”, who all preceded him in death. He attended Haines City High School where he was Student Council President. While in high school he became an Eagle Scout and Boy Scout Leader. After graduation he served in the Army.
Emmett worked for and retired from Tampa Electric Company and owned Quick Motor’s car sales. He loved the outdoors, dogs, country music, hunting, fishing, playing his guitar, and making deals. He would always help his friends, or just someone down on their luck, however he could. He was extremely patriotic, had a great sense of humor, and would talk to anyone and out talk everyone. He simply loved people and people loved him, whether they knew him well or hardly at all.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joanie; children Greg Waters, Stacie Helms (David), and Leslie Mozingo (Hank); grandchildren Christy Gregory , Noah Helms, Mackenzie Helms, Shelby Mozingo, and Jarrett Mozingo, as well as four great grandchildren. His family appreciates the hospice care provided by St. Francis Reflections Lifestage Care during his final years and the in-home care provided by Vienna Connelly, especially during his final months.
A celebration of his life will be held at Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society in Titusville, FL on March 2, 2024 from 1- 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
